Meal Plans 1001

LSU Dining is proud to serve the LSU community!  We know that students who eat balanced meals statistically do better in school, and it is our goal to provide them a variety of healthy food options.

LSU Dining Meal Plans are semester-based and designed to offer students convenience, flexibility and affordability. Residential Dining gives students the opportunity to interact with peers in a relaxed setting.

The 459 Commons and The 5 are modern and versatile state-of-the-art facilities complete with plasma TV's, wireless access and a huge variety of menu offerings. The 459 Commons features an Outtakes store with a Taco Bell and Papa John's which is open until 3:00 am Monday through Thursday and until 7:00pm on Friday. The 5 features Take 5 with a Quiznos which is new to campus.  Weekend service for Outtakes and Take 5 has been extended for Fall 2010 to compensate for the Tiger Lair Food Court construction in the Student Union.

Newly enrolled students living on-campus are required to have a Meal Plan, but we encourage all first-year students to have one. There are five options to choose from!  In addition, we feature the Tiger Commuter Meal Plan to off-campus and upper class students who would like to enjoy the ease of dining on campus.

LSU Dining Meal Plans are SEMESTER-based and designed to offer students convenience, variety and affordability. We offer several Meal Plans with various combinations of Meals and Paw Points that can best suit your needs on campus.  Meal Plans are for anyone and can be shared with family and friends (with the exception of the Tiger Max Unlimited Meal Plan).  The Commuter Meal Plan is great for upper-class students or commuters and gives you the convenience of dining on campus with no shopping, cooking or cleaning!

MEALS are served at The 459 Commons and our newest dining hall called The 5 (formerly known as Pentagon Dining Hall).  Experience Residential Dining at its best with state-of-the-art facilities and exciting menu options!  Both dining halls offer continuous service from 7:00am - 8:00pm Monday through Thursday and 7:00am - 4:30pm on Friday. Meals are all-you-care-to-eat and menus can be viewed online for your convenience.

PAW POINTS are flexible "dining dollars" that can be used at any LSU Dining location on campus including the Tiger Lair Food Court (temporarily under construction), CC's Coffee, Subway, Atrium Cafe, Pierre's Landing, Magnolia Room (temporarily under construction), Faculty Club and more!  They are dollar-for-point spending that make getting a quick snack or meal so easy.

A Meal Plan Meal may be swapped for a Meal Transfer Combo and one Meal will be deducted from the Meal Plan balance instead of the Paw Point balance.   Weekend Meal Transfers are available Outtakes and Take 5 until 7:00pm on Friday and continuing all day Saturday and Sunday.  Late Night Meal Transfers are offered at the Einstein Bros Bagels on the first floor of the LSU Student Union after 8:00pm Monday thru Thursday, after 4:30pm on Friday and all day Saturday and Sunday.

In addition, Outtakes at The 459 Commons and Take 5 at The 5 allow you to do Meal Transfers anytime during open hours!  Swap a Meal Plan Meal for any Papa Jonn's, Taco Bell or Quiznos Combo Meal or choose an Outtakes deli sandwich or salad combo!  Click here to see what is available from Taco Bell and Papa John's as well as some grab 'n geaux options.   Hours are 10:30am - 3:00am Monday through Thursday, 10:30 - 6:30pm Friday and Saturday and 10:30am - 11:00pm on Sunday.  Note the convenience store portion of Outtakes and Take 5 opens at 7:00am Monday through Friday.

Please note that Meal Transfers and sharing of Meals does not apply to the TIGER MAX UNLIMITED MEAL PLAN during the week!
Four Meal Transfers are included with the Tiger Max every weekend which can be used at Outtakes, Take 5 and Einstein Bros Bagels anytime they are open.

Consider there are approximately 110 days in the semester including weekends or 75 weekdays. Males tend to choose a Meal Plan with more of the all-you-care-to-eat dining hall meals while females prefer more Paw Points to use for specific items at our retail locations around campus.

Students are free to use Meal Plan Meals for breakfast, lunch or dinner with no weekly usage requirements. Unused meals will not roll over to the next semester, but Paw Points will roll over from Fall to Spring if the student continues with an LSU Dining Meal Plan.

You may sign up for a Meal Plan anytime through your PAWS account after you are registered for classes. Once you are in your account, simply go to Registration Services, then Additional Services. Enter the corresponding Service Code for the Meal Plan you would like to choose. Meal Plan charges will be added to your Fee Bill if it is before the deadline for processing.

You must complete Registration in order for your meal plan to transfer to your account (Tiger Card).  Students can add a Meal Plan and TigerCASH to their fee bill during registration. After you have chosen your method of payment, return to the "Fee Bill" screen, scroll to the bottom and click "Complete Registration."

You can also sign up for a Meal Plan in person at the Tiger Card Office in the LSU Student Union, Room 207.  Contact the Tiger Card Office at 578-4300 for more information.

Should you have any questions or concerns, please contact LSU Dining at 578.6642 or the Tiger Card Office at 578.4300. You may also refer to our FAQ's for further information. We look forward to seeing you soon!

Meal Plans are semester-based.  Unused Meals will be lost after the last class day of the Fall semester.  Paw Points will roll over from Fall to Spring only if the student has a Spring Meal Plan.  Roll-over Paw Points will automatically be added after the 14th day of class.  Any unused Paw Points will be lost if not used before the last day of class for the Spring semester.  They will not roll over from Spring to Summer or Fall.  The balance for Meals and Paw Points is available at any LSU Dining register or on the Tiger Card web site.
