Meal Plans 1001

LSU Dining is proud to serve the LSU community! We know that students who eat balanced meals statistically do better in school, and it is our goal to provide them a variety of healthy food options.

LSU Dining Meal Plans are semester-based and designed to offer students convenience, flexibility and affordability. Residential Dining gives students the opportunity to interact with peers in a relaxed setting.

Opened in January 2008, The 459 Commons is a modern and versatile state-of-the-art facility complete with plasma TV's and new menu choices. It is located off Highland Road behind Acadian Hall on the southeast side of campus. The 459 Commons also features an Outtakes store with a Taco Bell and Pizza Hut which will be open until 2:00 am Monday thru Thursday.

Newly enrolled students living on-campus are required to have a Meal Plan, but we encourage all first-year students to have one. There are five options to choose from!  In addition, we feature the Tiger Commuter Meal Plan to off-campus and upper class students who would like to enjoy the ease of dining on campus.

Meal Plans consist of Meals and Paw Points. Meals are served in our two all-you-care-to-eat dining halls with continuous service hours from 7:00 am - 7:00 pm at The 459 Commons. Paw Points are like "dining dollars" that can be used at all LSU Dining locations around campus. They can be shared with family and friends, too.

You can swap a Meal Plan Meal for a Meal Transfer Combo beginning at 4:30 on Friday, all day Saturday and all day Sunday in the Tiger Lair Food Court.  Meal Transfers are also available at Outtakes Taco Bell and Pizza Hut at The 459 Commons anytime they are open.  New for Fall 2008 are Breakfast Meal Transfers at Mini Mart and the Tiger Lair Food Court.  See locations for details.

Please note that sharing Meals and Meal Transfers do not apply to the UNLIMITED PLAN

Consider there are approximately 110 days in the semester including weekends or 75 weekdays. Males tend to choose a Meal Plan with more of the all-you-care-to-eat dining hall meals while females prefer more Paw Points to use for specific items at our retail locations around campus.

Students are free to use Meal Plan Meals for breakfast, lunch or dinner with no weekly usage requirements. Unused meals will not roll over to the next semester, but Paw Points will roll over from Fall to Spring if the student continues with an LSU Dining Meal Plan.

You can sign up for an LSU Dining Meal Plan anytime at the Tiger Card Office in the LSU Student Union, Room 207 or on your PAWS account once you are registered for classes. Go to Registration Services, then Additional Services and enter the corresponding Meal Plan code. Your Meal Plan will be added to your fee bill.  Contact the Tiger Card Office at 578-4300 for more information.

Effective Spring 2009, a 4% tax will be assessed on the Meal portion of all Meal Plans (not the Paw Points).  Please contact the Office of Bursar Operations at 225-578-3969 or email bursar@lsu.edu if you have any questions regarding this charge.

Should you have any questions or concerns, please contact LSU Dining at 578.6642 or the Tiger Card Office at 578.4300. You may also refer to our FAQ's for further information. We look forward to seeing you soon!
